The difference between stainless steel materials 304 and 316

Essentially, there is no significant difference between the two, as they are both types of stainless steel with the characteristics of acid and alkali resistance, ease of processing, and high toughness. But if we divide them carefully, we can see the difference between these two materials: 304 is mainly used for the production of pots, bowls, pans, and other home decoration products, and still belongs to the category of relatively basic materials, while 316 adds Ni, Cr, Mo elements on the basis of 304, which has higher density, better corrosion resistance, and high temperature resistance than 304. Therefore, it is widely used in various industrial fields (such as seawater equipment, chemicals, dyes, papermaking, oxalic acid, fertilizers, etc.).
